Ovals and reserves within the City of Karratha are enjoyed by a variety of community sporting groups for team trainings and match play
Facilities are booked at the start of each summer and winter sporting season through the City’s ground allocations process

The City offers a range of ovals and facilities which may be hired, including:
Bulgarra Sporting Precinct
Full size senior AFL/cricket oval, rugby league field, cricket nets, softball/teeball diamond and synthetic tennis courts all with flood lighting available for play at night. Public toilets are available adjacent to the Frank Butler Community Centre. Hire of any of the active oval reserves also allows access to the Bulgarra West
Pegs Creek Oval
Full size soccer field, cricket nets and junior size cricket oval. Flood lighting may be arranged at an extra cost when hiring the main playing field. Hire of the reserve also allows access to the Pegs Creek Pavilion change rooms upon request
Karratha Leisureplex Ovals
The Karratha Leisureplex ovals are the most recent additions to the City’s active sporting reserves. A full size senior AFL/cricket oval can also be used as two rectangular playing fields for soccer and rugby league, with a third stand-alone rugby league and soccer training field also available
All fields are able to be lit with purchase of lighting tokens for play during the evening. Hire of any of the active reserves also allows access to the Karratha Leisureplex change rooms upon request
Kevin Richards Oval
Full size senior AFL/cricket oval and adjacent cricket nets. Hire of the reserve also allows access to the Millars Well Pavilion change rooms upon request through Karratha Leisureplex
Tambrey Oval
Full size soccer field with hybrid goals also allows for rugby league to be played. Flood lighting may be arranged at an extra cost when hiring the main playing oval
Baynton West Oval
Junior size AFL/cricket oval and adjacent cricket nets. The oval can be used after sunset with the purchase of flood lighting tokens
Nickol West Oval
Soccer and Junior Rugby League field which can be used at night with the purchase of light tokens
Windy Ridge Oval
Windy Ridge Oval is located on The Esplanade, next to the Public Boat Ramp and is home to the Dampier Sharks Football Club and the Dampier Taverners Cricket Club
