Age levels
Our classes are divided into three groups based on the child's age.
- Little Ducks: infants 6 months – 36 months (parent in water)
- Dolphins: toddler 3 years – 5 years
- Learn to Swim: 5 years – 16 years
Little Ducks (infants 6 months – 36 months)
The Little Ducks program for infants has five levels which are based on age groups. Parents are required to be in the water with their children
Dolphins (toddlers 3 years – 4 years)
Dolphins must be aged 3 at time of enrolment.
The Dolphins program for toddlers has four levels which are based on skills. Please choose an appropriate level based on your child’s assessment or re-enrolment details. If your child is unable to swim independently, they must start at Dolphin 1.
Learn To Swim (5 – 16 years)
There are nine stages of learn to swim instruction based on the Austswim Learn to swim guidelines. Parents should choose a stage level based on their child’s skill level in the water. Children who have previously completed Austswim stages should progress to the next stage. Parents who are unsure of their child’s level should contact a swim instructor to discuss the best class for their child
